My kids have always enjoyed the arts and crafts. Always have paints around and can always find something to paint.

Most kids like to cook as well. Even if you just give them the old pots and such and let them play on the card board box stove. Let them paint the stove! Imagination is the best!
let them invite a friend over and get them some boardgames like monopoly, trouble,etc. And if that doesn't work try books.
