What are some tactic/rpg style handheld games?
I was wondering if anyone can name a few good final fantasy tactics type games for the ds and psp. So far all ive played are the FFT's for ds and psp. Hopefully theres more good ones out there i cant seem to find.What are some tactic/rpg style handheld games?
The Fire Emblem series was quite well done. its a very challenging game however, as when you characters die, they cannot be brought back and are gone for good. The gameplay is very similar to FF tactics and i enjoyed it.

When I was young, my mother pretty much let me play any videogame I want. This was because she knew it's an eventuality. Take games with violence in them. People die every day. People are murdered. It's spread all over the TV -- Is this any better for your children? Letting them watch and hear how an entire school of students were mowed down with a machine gun?

There will always be "BAD" things around, and if your children want the game, I suggest you buy one, just for a tester. Sit with your child and play it WITH them. Test them to see if they can be responsible and not blow it out of proportion. You can watch your child over a couple weeks to see if any personality changes occur as well, and if they do, just take away the game.

I have the ps3, 360 and a PC. I am looking for some good RPG type games with good character creation. I reallly love the Mass Effect series, so something similar in style would be awesome! Well, for PC...what I would do is search around on Steam and see if you find anything that appeals to you and then check out some reviews and then buy the game. Two very cheap games that have provided me with countless hours of fun are the games Audiosurf and Beat Hazard. Both take any song you give it and turns in into a visual masterpiece of a game.
Audiosurf my personal favorite is very similar to the popular game guitar hero, but it has many deferent was to play.

Two very cheap games that have provided me with countless hours of fun are the games Audiosurf and Beat Hazard. Both take any song you give it and turns in into a visual masterpiece of a game.
Audiosurf my personal favorite is very similar to the popular game guitar hero, but it has many deferent was to play.

In fact most tasks are stored as volatile memory on your systems RAM, and when you close out of a program the majority of that information is removed. Turning your machine off or rebooting wipes it clean. Things that will save to your hdd are as follows. I don't know if your talking about games being played on the internet or offline, but yeah they will save to your system. They will offline if you so choose to save or have it save automatically. Many online games will just place cookies on your system, but there are games that will require you to add a plugin or active x control. Some online games even give you the option of saving your progress for future play. That progress is stored in the temporary internet files folder also.

I personally think games like Fighting Anime, or wars, or something like that can make you think violently, but it affects better with children and teens..
Also, stuff like Sims2, I'm afraid because in the game you can marry someone and such, and it can make you think to play the game over and over again and not having a life outside...
Basically, games nowadays are quite dangerous, only those brain games and some games like Harvest Moon or the basic of Sims that I can trust..
But it's up to you, games, and I mean any games are designed to make people feel relaxed and happy.. But any games can make you addicted.. So, the key is that you can play any games you want, but take time to do other stuff like do a random research on a topic you're interested in, do your hobbies and hang out with friends or family..
There are more interesting things out there...
Also, games like PS2 and computers can affect your eyes badly, so I need also to get off this computer or my eyes will hurt.. XD

I personally think games like Fighting Anime, or wars, or something like that can make you think violently, but it affects better with children and teens..
Also, stuff like Sims2, I'm afraid because in the game you can marry someone and such, and it can make you think to play the game over and over again and not having a life outside...
Basically, games nowadays are quite dangerous, only those brain games and some games like Harvest Moon or the basic of Sims that I can trust..
But it's up to you, games, and I mean any games are designed to make people feel relaxed and happy.. But any games can make you addicted.. So, the key is that you can play any games you want, but take time to do other stuff like do a random research on a topic you're interested in, do your hobbies and hang out with friends or family..
There are more interesting things out there...
Also, games like PS2 and computers can affect your eyes badly, so I need also to get off this computer or my eyes will hurt.. XD

Then i would say get (Command %26amp; Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars) Its designed just for VISTA and should work as long as you have a 2ghz+ processor and 1 gb of ram just play it with low detail, Also their is a game called (World In Conflict) For vista Another RTS But its going to be a modern warfare type game. They all look really amazing and innovative.
I wanted to play Okami but I had played a demo and it irritated me. A fairy flies around with the wolf god and the noise she CONSTANTLY makes gave me such a headache I had to turn it off!! I hope that in the finished product they fixed that. But that game looked beautiful. If you like that have you checked out Shadow of the Colosus or Iko (or was it Eko)....the second is REALLY hard to find but it's just as visually beautiful.

Though I am only 17 I am pretty sure that I want to create a video game business. I have a couple of games in mind but I just wanted to know, what (in your opinion) would be the best game you would like to see created?What type of games would u like to see created?
Something with a decent storyline and plot, that will leave thought provoking memories in a person's mind long after they have finished playing it. Don't just throw something together just for the sake of having the player's avatar do this quest and now this one, etc.. Good graphics. Good artwork, Good background music that matches the gameplay and sets the tone and mood. Good characterization with the right type of voice-over. Good sound effects. User friendly control interface. Everything has to all come together in the right combination such that the whole it greater than the sum of it's parts. Research what you do thoroughly. If the player's avatar is in a control tower of a major airport somewhere, does it look like the interior of an actual control tower? If you are in Midevil Japan for example do the buildings look like buildings of that era? Do the people wear clothes like they did then and there? Make a lot of things interactive about the game. Pay attention to the details. There have been enough cartoon games made already. Try to make a real game. And for God's sake, make a game that allows a person to do a save anytime they want to in the game! Make a game that has atmosphere to it. Don't make the type of game that you have to read your way through in order to play it. Books were made for that. Use real-time strategy over turn-based. Have a mixture of different genres in the game. Good luck ahead.

I have a group of kids K-4 that I have to play drums for, but I want to make it fun and interactive. They all made drums and I will be bringing in my drum but I don't want to just do a repeat after me type game.What are some fun, interactive drumming games for kids?
Maybe you could get a CD of music and you could ask the kids to try and drum along with the beat of the song. You could play along too if you wish.
You could play Simon Says with the drums. Like "Simon says drum as fast as you can!" or "Keep a beat with your elbows!" or "Simon says stop drumming!" et cetera...
You could break the kids off into groups and they could quickly write drum songs to perform to the other kids (this may work better with slightly older kids.) Each member of the group would have a different rhythm to play: bass, melody, harmony...
Or you could do a variation of a pattern game with the drums. One person leaves and everyone else sits in a circle. You secretly choose one person in the circle to be the leader, and they start to play a drum beat. Everyone else follows the leader. The guesser comes back in and stands in the middle of the circle, looking at everyone. When the guesser's not looking, the leader will try and change the beat (and then everyone else will follow). The guesser will have to try and figure out who the leader is.

You could play Simon Says with the drums. Like "Simon says drum as fast as you can!" or "Keep a beat with your elbows!" or "Simon says stop drumming!" et cetera...
You could break the kids off into groups and they could quickly write drum songs to perform to the other kids (this may work better with slightly older kids.) Each member of the group would have a different rhythm to play: bass, melody, harmony...
Or you could do a variation of a pattern game with the drums. One person leaves and everyone else sits in a circle. You secretly choose one person in the circle to be the leader, and they start to play a drum beat. Everyone else follows the leader. The guesser comes back in and stands in the middle of the circle, looking at everyone. When the guesser's not looking, the leader will try and change the beat (and then everyone else will follow). The guesser will have to try and figure out who the leader is.

Try distracting him with a toy or something else he likes. Another idea is to play games that teach him things. Like an example would be to make a bag of popcorn. Put it in a bowl and get his attention. Then say "speak, woof" then eat a piece. Do this 4 or 5 times. Then say "speak, woof" and hold up a piece. If he makes an attempt to speak or even moves his mouth give him the popcorn. If he does nothing eat it. Eventually you can drop the woof and just say speak. Then eventually get rid of the popcorn. Do this for about 5 minutes a day. It is fun and it will teach him.

My favorites are Arkanoid - Time Management - Hidden Object and Bubble Poppers.
I just recently got acquainted with Arkanoid type games and I love them. Strike Ball 3 just got released and it is fabulous!!!!

I've looked at magic the gathering online and i don't like that I am forced to pay to buy cards and what not, i have also checked out magic league and yeah its cool that its a 40 day trial but i want to just be able to just sit down and play without being forced to pay for cards and packs with real money, please nobody suggest the same things i have already stated.Are there any completely free Magic the Gathering type games?

The whole point of CCG/TCG is to collect cards from boosters. These cost money to print in the real world and time to make and maintain online.
Magic is, admittedly, rather pricey. Plus the fact you have to re buy your collection each year is a bit cheeky. But it is the best.
Magic and other TCG's are collections as well as games, you sound like you just want a game. Try gameplay.com or ebay for a relevant pc game.
If you want cheaper try Magic tactics, it even has the ability to play for free although its very slow going and rather pointless.

FINAL FANTASY X!! this game still makes me tear.. the story is just so rich and it was named and voted to be just as good as ff7.. avoid ffx-2 its blows and totally ruins the story of ffx. try ico and shadow of the colossus, both games are simple yet they pull you into the character also you can finish both games in a day. the best action/adventure games to date are still the devil may cry series. go for devil may cry 3 its the prequel and the most fun and hard as hell game you will ever play. dark cloud 2, this game isnt very widespread but its very VERY entertaiming.. you get to make your own weapons, robots, villages, etc, from stuff you collect in dungeons and the art work is somewhat cartoonish so its a great all age game also. to recap

2. ico / shadow of the colossus
3. devil may cry 3
4. dark cloud 2
oh and kingdom heart 1 and 2 if you want to go down memory lane while still kicking butt
