Are there any completely free Magic the Gathering type games?

I've looked at magic the gathering online and i don't like that I am forced to pay to buy cards and what not, i have also checked out magic league and yeah its cool that its a 40 day trial but i want to just be able to just sit down and play without being forced to pay for cards and packs with real money, please nobody suggest the same things i have already stated.Are there any completely free Magic the Gathering type games?
Why would someone go to the effort of making a game and then give it away totally free?

The whole point of CCG/TCG is to collect cards from boosters. These cost money to print in the real world and time to make and maintain online.



Magic is, admittedly, rather pricey. Plus the fact you have to re buy your collection each year is a bit cheeky. But it is the best.



Magic and other TCG's are collections as well as games, you sound like you just want a game. Try gameplay.com or ebay for a relevant pc game.



If you want cheaper try Magic tactics, it even has the ability to play for free although its very slow going and rather pointless.

Totally free? Not found one yet, and if I do it will probably be crap!
