How do I write video games?

I would like to write video games in the storyline sense, not the programming one. I want to do things like RPGs, adventure type games etc. Not necessarly deal with the coding or designing... just the story and offer my suggestions. What steps do I need to take? What is that position even called since you rarely see "writer" on the credits?How do I write video games?
Getting in the video game industry is still pretty difficult but if your lucky enough to work for someone like squareenix and you were on the story team or whatever you could work on the storyboard and such.



for playing around with the idea get with some friends who are into visual basic or c# and mabe try making a game with a story.



Or I remember hearing about an interesting title for the playstation rpg maker or something like that where you maek your own rpg. I'm pretty sure it was released in the U.S, that would definitly be worth trying
